8.20.030 Other domesticated animals.
Any domesticated wild animals that have bitten any person, inclusive of but not limited to wolf-dog hybrids, skunks and raccoons shall be immediately destroyed by a licensed veterinarian and the proper specimen from the animal tested for rabies by the State Lab of Hygiene. All expenses shall be charged to the owner or custodian of the animal.

6.12.010 Prohibited animals.
- No person, firm, corporation, partnership, or limited liability company shall keep, feed, or breed any fur bearing animal, game animal, or game bird as defined in sec. 29.001(30), (36) and (39), Wisconsin Statutes.
- No person, firm, or corporation shall keep, feed, or breed any member of the feline family, other than domestic cats.
- No person, firm, or corporation shall keep, feed, or breed any domestic fowl , except as provided in Chapter 6.15
- This section shall not apply to domestic rabbits, defined as those rabbits that are normally born and raised in captivity.
- This section shall not apply to animals in the possession of a wildlife rehabilitator who is licensed by the state of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources, while such animal is being lawfully nurtured or rehabilitated for release in the wild. No animal may be kept under this exception for a period of more than 55 days. No animal may be kept under this exception that poses a danger to the community.
6.12.015 Snakes.
- For purposes of this section, “poisonous” shall mean having the ability to cause serious harm or death by the transfer of venom or poison to a person or animal.
- No person shall keep or possess any snake in the city which is poisonous or in excess of 10 feet in length. This prohibition shall not apply to bona fide zoos, educational institutions or exhibitions keeping such snakes for display or for instructional or research purposes. Any person legally possessing any such animal in this capacity shall notify the chief of police in writing of the location and type of snake being kept and the purpose for such possession.

6.1.6 Animals, fowl and insects not permitted in the village.
- No person shall bring into, keep, maintain, offer for sale or barter, or release to the wild, nor shall any person permit such activities to occur on premises owned, controlled, rented or maintained by that person:
- Any fowl, chicken, turkeys, ducks, geese, cows, cattle, horses, sheep, swine, goats, potbellied pigs, or any other domesticated livestock, unless zoned A-1, A-2, or UT ;
- Wild animals, including but not limited to, any live monkey, or other non-human primate, raccoon, skunk, ferret, prairie dog, fox, wolf, panther, lynx, opossum or any other warm-blooded animal which can normally be found in the wild state. For the purposes of this code, wolf-dog hybrids are considered wild animals;
- Any poisonous or venomous, biting or injecting species of reptiles, amphibians, arachnids or insects;
- Snakes not indigenous to Wisconsin or any snake exceeding three feet in length, this section shall not be construed to apply to zoological parks, circuses or like entertainment organization or to an educational or medical institution.
- Cruelty to animals.
- Every owner or person responsible shall provide animals with a sufficient supply of good/wholesome food and potable water to maintain health.
- No person shall confine and/or allow animals to remain outside during adverse weather conditions constituting a health hazard to such animal. (a) Sufficient shade by natural or artificial source shall be provided to protect the animal from direct sunlight. (b) Natural or artificial shelter appropriate to the local climatic conditions shall be provided as necessary.
- Every owner and/or person in charge of control of any animal which is kept outdoors, or in an unheated enclosure, shall provide such animal with shelter and bedding as prescribed in this section as a minimum.
- The housing facilities shall be structurally sound, moisture proof and maintained in good repair;
- Enclosures shall be constructed and maintained to provide sufficient space to allow each animal adequate freedom of movement and the retention of body heat;
- A solid floor raised at least two inches off the ground;
- An entrance covered by a self-closing swinging covering, or an L-shaped entrance to prevent the wind from blowing directly into the house;
- A sufficient quantity of suitable clean bedding material, to provide insulation and protection against the cold and dampness and promote the retention of body heat;
- During the months of May through September, inclusive, subsection (3)(d) and (e) of this section may be suspended.
- Every owner that houses or confines an animal in a pen or enclosure shall keep and maintain such pen or enclosure in a clean, sanitary and odor-free condition.
- No person may abandon or neglect any animal.
- No person shall kick, beat, cruelly ill treat, torment, overload, overwork or otherwise abuse any animal.
